Cats usually have their goggles off in the Buffer Zone, and Ghost got lucky that Morgan (the cat) was the only one so far to see that. Everyone else just have an instinctual unease about the specific shade of purple Ghost is.
Monster sludge being in the Buffer Zone is still taken very seriously though.
