I definitely get the time being hell thing, I write stories and there’s definitely an element of “Oh, that scene is gonna be so great when I write it ABOUT THREE HUNDRED PAGES FROM NOW!
On the other hand, I’d say those kinds of things are actually really important. Those unwritten scenes you plan out months or years in advance give you goals, tangible places you want the story to be between the beginning and the end.
Sooo… time secondary for Patches? Or is this something else?
